Only the current version so far — new entries appear as the game ships updates.
Shiomizaka Photo Studio is an escape game where you must get out of a closed photo studio.
A close childhood friend suddenly disappeared from this town.
As you inquire around, you arrive at a photo studio halfway up the hill.
As you enter through the open door, it slams shut behind you, and you hear the sound of a lock being pulled from the outside.
■ No Dead Ends
No matter what order you investigate, there are no irreversible choices.
You won't lose any items, so you can try everything you can think of.
To prevent situations where you can't solve the game because you made a mistake somewhere,
all possible paths are checked by a machine before being displayed.
■ Where to Investigate is Shown on the Screen
Areas with frames indicate areas you can investigate. Areas where something might happen are highlighted in a darker color.
We believe that the time spent searching for what to press isn't the fun part of this game.
We designed it this way to leave only time for thinking.
■ There are three sections of hints.
The first section simply tells you "where to look." The next section explains the thought process, and the final section is the answer.
The first section is always free to read. Sections two and beyond are unlocked by watching a video.
If you can't watch a video, you can open them directly.
Once a hint is opened, it won't disappear even if you start over.
The answer section is always provided. This is to prevent you from having to search for walkthroughs on other websites.
■ You can write down what you see on the spot.
Below the text that appears when you look something up, there's a "Write Down" button.
What you write down accumulates in your notes and can be reviewed directly from the screen where you match the numbers.
You won't have to go back and forth between rooms trying to remember dates and numbers.
There's no limit to the number of things you can write down.
■ There is only one puzzle that involves timing.
Even if you don't make it in time, you can try again as many times as you like on the spot. You have nothing to lose.
The clock starts ticking after you press "Start."
If you don't want to be rushed, you can turn it off in the settings. Even with it off, you can still solve the puzzles.
■ Continue from where you left off, no matter where you closed it
Your progress is saved after every move. Even if you close the game in the middle of solving a puzzle, you'll continue from where you left off the next time you open it.
■ Ease of Play
・Choose from 10 different color schemes.
・Choose from 4 font sizes.
・Playable without an internet connection. Your progress is saved only on your device.
■ About Ads
We display ads to allow you to play the game for free until the end.
However, nothing will interrupt you while you're solving puzzles.
Full-screen ads only appear at intervals when the scene changes.
You can also remove ads with a one-time payment.
Only the ads will be removed; the rest of the story, hints, and answers will remain free to view until the end.
■ About This Work
This is the first story in a series set in the fictional port town of Shiomizaka.
Each installment has a self-contained story, so you can play through to the end with just this one game.
There's no cliffhanger while you wait for a sequel.
