Step onto a virtual highway jobsite and find out what Laborers, Carpenters, and Heavy Equipment Operators actually do, not by reading about it, but by doing it. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Explore a detailed interactive road construction jobsite • Meet Laborers, Carpenters, and Heavy Equipment Operators on the job • Examine tools, vehicles, and equipment to learn what they do • Take on trade-specific challenges based on real construction tasks • Follow guided objectives to earn Trade Cards and a Certificate • Replay any trade, beat your scores, and discover details you missed • Learn real career information, including what these jobs pay FOR TEACHERS AND COUNSELORS Built for career exploration units, CTE classrooms, advisory periods, and career days. Students can work at their own pace and revisit any trade that interests them, making the game easy to use as a station or full-period activity. No account is required, and no player data is collected. Students earn a Certificate that can serve as evidence of completion. A companion lesson plan is also available for educators who want a more structured classroom experience. BUILT WITH THE INDUSTRY Future Road Builders was developed with the Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania (CAWP), which has represented western Pennsylvania’s heavy and highway construction industry since 1934. CAWP’s industry experience and relationships with contractors and trade unions helped shape the careers, tasks, and wage information presented in the game.
