The "Schieber" variant uses a 36-card deck with four players. Each player is dealt nine cards, and one player selects the trump suit OR one of two different game modes: Top-Down: 6 is the lowest card, and Ace is the highest Bottom-Up: 6 is the highest card, and Ace is the lowest After selecting a game mode, players can declare a "Weis" if they have specific card combinations in their hand, earning extra points. The game proceeds counter-clockwise, with card values depending on the chosen Jass game method.
