She saw him through the window with someone else, and took the photo herself.
Four years. His reply was one line: "We're over. Don't call me."
He was also her manager. Weeks later he sat on the panel that denied her promotion. Then the studio started saying her eleven years had only ever been favours from him. Then MERIDIAN shipped her brooch as their spring collection, credited to him.
Boyfriend. Manager. Thief.
She kept the sketchbook. Now she is going to make her name bigger than his.
── THE STORY ──
Mira Sole gave eleven years to MERIDIAN. Senior Artisan — the hands behind the pieces that made the house famous.
Julian Voss is the founder's grandson. Design Director. He has never made a piece with his own hands. For four years he was her boyfriend and her manager at the same time.
She caught him herself, photographed it herself, and sent it to him. He ended four years in eight words and never explained. Then he used the desk he sat behind: her promotion came back denied — "insufficient capability" — with his name on the review panel. Then the rumour went around that she had padded her portfolio, and that every promotion she ever earned had come from him instead of from her work. Eleven years of craft, re-labelled as a favour.
She resigned the next day. No handover. The only thing she took was her own sketchbook.
That same week MERIDIAN launched its spring collection. Piece three was a Deco fan brooch — page 41 of her sketchbook, drawn in 2019. The credit read J. Voss.
She still has page 41. That is what makes this a revenge story instead of a sad one.
── WHAT YOU DO ──
▷ Merge the materials. Craft the piece by hand.
Merge four supply lines — gemstone, silver, polish, tools — to raise your materials. Spend them on a commission and the piece moves through four real stages: Drafting, Shaping, Setting stones, Finishing. When it's done, it gets photographed.
▷ Your first commission is the brooch he stole.
Margo Lin walks in and asks for a Deco fan brooch. Page 41. You make it again, properly, and this time your name is on it.
▷ You name the price.
"How much is it?" Three answers. Go under your rate and the customer is delighted, but your work gets priced cheap. Charge what you're worth and word spreads. Push past it and word turns. Twelve customers, each with their own reason for walking in.
▷ Zero followers to a million.
Post every finished piece. Likes land, comments come in, followers climb. 100. 500. 2,000. 10,000. 50,000. 100,000. A million. Every threshold moves the story one notch.
▷ The revenge stays quiet.
MERIDIAN takes a second design. A journalist brings your name up in an interview about them. Julian's younger sister picks your side. And one day a single DM arrives from him. It changes nothing about your progress. It is only for you.
▷ There are people next door.
Nia runs the flower shop two doors down and becomes the first person to say "your shop" like it was real. Theo keeps coming back with pieces to restore. It's a revenge story, but there's a life happening in between.
▷ A voiced opening.
Six voice lines across a 42-second intro — from a photograph taken through a window to a stolen brooch in someone else's spring campaign.
