Reversi, the classic 8x8 board game also known as Othello, done cleanly. Place a disc, trap your opponent's line, watch it flip to your colour. No ads, no sign-in, no internet permission at all — the whole game runs on your phone. FOUR CPU LEVELS • Easy — a forgiving opponent that leaves openings for you • Medium — plays sound moves and punishes loose ones • Hard — looks several moves ahead and fights for the corners • Expert — deep search, no mistakes handed out The CPU is a real engine, not a random mover: it searches ahead with alpha-beta pruning and scores positions by classic square weights (corners high, corner-adjacent squares dangerous) plus mobility, then switches to pure disc count as the board fills. The easier levels deliberately let a few moves slip so a beginner can actually win. TWO PLAYERS ON ONE DEVICE Pass and play against a friend on the same phone. Same board, same rules, no second install. PLAY BLACK OR WHITE Choose your colour against the CPU. Black always moves first, so it is a genuine change of game. FULL, CORRECT RULES • Flips in all eight directions — horizontal, vertical and diagonal • Legal moves highlighted, with the number of discs each one flips • Automatic pass when a side has no legal move, with a clear notice of what happened • The game ends when neither side can move, and the higher disc count wins UNDO AND HINTS Undo takes back your move and the CPU's reply together, so you land where you actually want to be. Stuck? Ask for a hint and the strongest square is pointed out for you. SIX THEMES Classic, Ocean, Midnight, Bloom, Aurora and Black. Three are true dark themes for late-night play, and Black is pure black for OLED screens. The theme colours the entire app, board and status bar included. STATISTICS THAT MEAN SOMETHING Games played, wins, losses, draws, win rate, best margin, current streak and best streak — kept per difficulty, so beating Expert is not diluted by your Easy record. NEVER LOSE A GAME Leave mid-match — a call, a notification, a closed app — and the board, the turn, the clock and the move count all come back exactly as you left them. MADE TO FEEL GOOD Discs flip with a proper animation, moves land with subtle haptics, and an optional timer tracks how long you have been thinking. Sound, haptics, animations, the timer, legal-move markers and the restart confirmation can each be switched off in Settings. BUILT FOR EVERYONE The board is fully described to screen readers — every square announces its position, its contents and how many discs a move there would flip. Every control clears the 48dp touch-target minimum. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No internet permission. No ads. No accounts. No analytics. Nothing is collected, because nothing leaves your device. The download is small and the game works completely offline — on a plane, underground, anywhere.
