Palavramento: caça-palavras

Word Search is a multiplayer word search game in Brazilian Portuguese. You and everyone in the room play on the SAME 4x4 grid, with the SAME two-minute timer. When the time runs out, the score appears instantly and everyone sees who found the most words. HOW TO PLAY Drag your finger across neighboring letters to form words. You can connect horizontally, vertically, and diagonally, as long as you don't repeat the same piece. Words with three or more letters count. Each letter has a value, and the word's score is the sum of the pieces you moved, so finding the longest word isn't always the best option. EVERYONE ON THE SAME GRID It's not a turn-based game or a match against a robot. The entire room receives the same board at the same time and plays simultaneously. A new round starts every few minutes, and you can join in the middle: you don't have to wait for anyone. THEMES THAT CHANGE THE RULES Each round announces a theme at the top. Sometimes a letter is worth much more than usual. Sometimes digraph pieces (QU, CH, LH, NH, RR, SS, GU) appear, which count as a single letter. Sometimes a piece with two alternative letters appears, which serves for one or the other. The board is never the same twice. THE END OF THE ROUND TEACHES When time runs out, the game shows the complete list of words that the grid had: the ones you found, the common ones you missed, and the difficult ones that only an expert would find. You can see how many points were there and how many you got. That's how you improve. YOUR PROGRESS IS SAVED Create an account and the game saves your total score, your words, your best game, your best word, your average score, and your best placement. You gain experience and level up with each game. The history lets you revisit old rounds with the entire board and solution. TRUE PORTUGUESE Words are validated with the Hunspell pt_BR dictionary from the VERO project. Accents, cedillas, and digraphs work as you would expect from a word game made for Portuguese, not a translation of an English game. NO PURCHASE AND NO TRACKING There are no items to buy within the game and there is no usage telemetry. The app only asks for one permission: internet access, because the game is multiplayer. OPEN SOURCE Palavramento is free software under the AGPL-3.0-or-later license, app and server. The code is at github.com/LeoColman/Palavramento, and anyone can read, study, modify and run their own server.
